Available replacement screen quality options now available for 6s - 11 iPhones.

Please read to learn about available replacement screen quality now available for 6s - 11 iPhones.

The iPhone 6 - 8 copy LCD screen quality varies greatly. Most repairers fit the cheapest thicker outcell replacement screen with poor colour gamut and touch control, inferior IC, flex cables and connectors. CCR offer standard, premium and the advanced quality incell LCD with original IC. The thinner incell displays are regarded as good as or better then original and have the touch film incorporated in the display making touch function better and much harder to fail when the front glass is cracked.

Since the iPhone X Apple started using Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) displays replacing Liquid Crystal Displays (LCD). The XR is an exception and still uses an LCD screen. Original OLED screens are flexible so much harder to damage the actual display when the glass is cracked. Copy Rigid or Hard OLED will be damaged much easier. Copy screens come in LCD (replacing OLED in X, XS, XS Max for cheaper price), hard OLED and flexible OLED. CRR do not offer the hard OLED as they are damaged easily.
So please choose your screen based on quality and budget.

Disable Windows 10 Automatic upgrade

Last month Microsoft started pushing the upgrade to Windows 10 by including it in the recommended updates. The update is automatically ticked and Windows 10 can be installed without the PC owners consent. I can not understand how Microsoft can get away with this clandestine approach to force users onto the 10 platform. I actually believe 10 to be a very good and fast operating system but it can cause all sorts of issues on older PC's built for Windows 7 and sometimes 8 & 8.1. You should always check your PC's or motherboard manufactures website for 10 compatibility.

Never10 is a great simple little application that prevents the automatic upgrade to windows 10. The small 83kb executable does not need installing you just download and run it. By clicking the button in the centre at the bottom you disable or enable the Windows 10 upgrade on your system.

If you want to remove the Windows 10 icon in you task bar follow these instructions to remove the KB3035583 update.

Avoid getting your computer infected with Adware & Malware.

6/6/2015

Malware and adware
Adware, malware and unwanted software downloaded or installed unknowingly, or naively, are by far the main reason PC's start performing slowly and severely impact your internet browser. They compete for the PC's resources, i.e. memory & CPU, clog up the registry and annoy the hell out of you with pop ups.

Here are my top tips to avoiding Adware, Malware and unwanted software.
1. When installing anything do not select the recommended installation option. Nearly always there are other items that will be automatically installed. Use the custom or advanced option and un-select any additional items.
2. When Torrenting read the comments first. Check the list of files and un-select unnecessary ones.
3. Make sure you have a good up to date antivirus installed.
4. Dont fall the old click on me trick. Study the webpage and click on the correct link. If you hover your mouse over a link the address is displayed in the bottom and you can see if its the one you want.
5. Avoid most of the software that claims to speed up your PC will usually make things worse and continually annoy you with pop ups and payment demands.
6. Do not install any driver check or update software. Only download drivers from the computer or component manufacturers website.
7. Only download software from the publishers own website.
8. Manually uninstall any unwanted software, addons and applications.

Hope that all helps

Causes of Overheating Laptop

When a laptop computers cooling system is not able to perform its job the graphics chip can overheat creating bad solder contacts causing failure. Unless its a very expensive PC its usually not economical to repair. Sure there are tricks to try and reflow the graphics chip solder contacts but these are usually unsucessfull or short lived.

The only lasting permanent repair is to remove the chip and either refit or replace renewing the solder balls in the process. Reballing is a specialized and expensive process.

The best solution is to prevent overheating to start with by not blocking the laptops airflow and regular servicing. Below is an example of a machine that has not been serviced for a few years. The dust build up in front of the cooling fins prevents clear air flow thus causing overheating.

Never use your laptop while its sitting on a soft surface like bedding, pillows, clothing etc. Doing so will block the ventilation it requires to cool properly. Always use on a hard surface or if on your lap be sure your not blocking the vents. Special solid top tables are available for you lap and some also have inbuilt cooling fans.

If your laptop seems to be getting very hot or shutting down under heavy load dont hesitate to get it serviced.
